DESCRIPTION:A short dance film by Casson &amp\; Friends\, commissioned by B
 urnley Words Festival\n\nMen in Burnley was created by Casson &amp\; Frien
 ds following a week-long residency in Burnley in Spring 2025. The artists 
 met with community groups across the town to explore the question: What do
 es it mean to be a man in Burnley?\n\nThe resulting 10-minute dance perfor
 mance was shared with the community members who had taken part in those co
 nversations. Its success led to the creation of this short film\, which ca
 ptures and extends that dialogue. Every scene and movement in the film is 
 drawn directly from things said by people in Burnley.\n\nFilmed on locatio
 n in places mentioned during those conversations\, Men in Burnley reflects
  local identity\, unheard voices and unspoken conversations.\n\nPurpose an
 d Context\nBurnley Words Festival commissioned this project as part of its
  ongoing work to commission and programme art that reflects the lives and 
 priorities of people in Burnley. The film aims to spark discussion\, parti
 cularly around masculinity\, identity and community\, and to reach audienc
 es beyond the festival itself.\n\nSharing the Film\nThe film is free to sh
