DESCRIPTION:We are all made up of stories. Some we have lived through\, som
 e we dream about\, some are pure flights of imagination.\nIn this creative
  writing workshop you will have a chance to set these stories free.\n\nWe 
 will be demystifying the process of writing a poem or a short piece of fla
 sh fiction and letting our ideas flow. Writing can be a form of therapy\, 
 comfort\, anger and clarity. Instead of bottling up all those emotions ins
 ide of you\, you are releasing them onto paper. And that can only be a goo
 d thing.\n\nYou will get plenty of time to write. Along the way Reshma wil
 l give you tips on what to look out for\, how to improve.\n\nThis event is

 o novels\, Something Black in the Lentil Soup\, and Still Lives\, winner 
 of the 2023 Diverse Book Readers’ Choice Award and longlisted for the 20
 23 Peoples Book Award.  She has also published a poetry collection\, A Di
 nner Party in the Home Counties\, winner of the 2019 Word Masala Award and
  a short story collection\, Mrs Pinto Drives to Happiness\, shortlisted f
 or the 2022 Eastern Eye ACTA Award.\n\nHer work has appeared in anthologie
 s and journals both national and international\, and commissioned by the B
 BC\, University of Cumbria and Manchester Literature Festival. She is the 
 co-founder of The Whole Kahani – a writers’ collective of British Sout
 h Asian writers and is a trustee on the Board of Manchester City of Litera
