There’s no greaterbushwhacked thrill than when reading a book or watching a show, and something happens and you HAVE to know what happens next. That draw in, the must-see-the-next-twist aspect of all writing. This is perhaps most true in writing for young audiences who have more than enough distractions in everyday life to pull them away from page, screen or stage. So how do we get attention. When we’ve got it, how do we demand that we keep it? Daniel Dockery, who’s written for young adults for nearly two decades for television, film, theatre and books, will take you through the key steps of creating thrilling rides and cliff hanger moments. How to lure viewers in and keep readers hooked. How TV differs from film, how stage and page can vary massively. The art of pace, twists that work and those that don’t and finally he’ll show you just what makes the perfect cliff hanger – it’s…. well, come along and find out!
This is a Pay What You Decide event, which means you make your donation on the day at the end of the session, however this is a limited capacity session, and we recommend you book your seat for free in advance here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/burnley-words/t-lnjpzdr
