THOSE FROM DISTANDS LANDS – is an amazing anthology of spoken poetry created by young people from Respect and Dignity Arts.

Their poetry explores the formidable story of their ancestors;
How those from distant lands left the towns and villages that fed them,
Composing extraordinary stories,
And defining their place in present times.

Having developed their poetry under the tutelage of renowned spoken word artists; Reece Irvin Williams, Nicole May, Shirley May and Suhaiymah Manzoor (The Brown Hijabi) – The Young Collective will be performing at this year’s Burnley Word Festival 2023

Audiences will also have the opportunity to experience the exclusive screening of the ground breaking short film, ‘Those from Distant Lands.’
