Walk along the straight mile with Canal Poet Laureate Roy McFarlane and watch him perform new, specially commissioned poems about this special stretch of the canal.

Where to meet: Please meet us at the car park of Finsley Gate Wharf at 2.45pm ready to set off at 3pm

Route endpoint: The guided poetry will end at Thomspon Park, where some light refreshments will be provided

Good to know:

• This is an outside walk along the canal path, please be prepared for the Burnley weather and terrain
• There will be fairly regular points where we will stop to watch Roy perform, this will be a gentle stroll with an opportunity for conversation in between the stops
• The guided route is just over a mile long
• If you leave your car at Finsley Gate Wharf you will need to make your own way back
• This walk is aimed at people aged 14 and above. Younger children are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult, but this event is aimed at an adult audience
