We are looking for a bank of local writers and performers to host our popular Local Writers Night at the Burnley Mechanics, so we’ve teamed up with our regular Compere, Dominic Berry to bring you this practical hosting and compering workshop. From finding your own hosting style to handling sensitive content, this session is designed to boost your confidence and give you the tools to lead events with confidence.
You’ll explore:
- Introducing yourself and your own work
- Welcoming other performers to the stage
- Finding your voice and style as a host
- Managing tricky moments or sensitive material
- Technical tips for using microphones and running the night smoothly
- Q&A – bring your questions!
This is a Pay What You Decide Event, places are limited to 10, so booking your spot for free in advance is strongly advised. Book here.
This workshop will take place in the basement studio of the Burnley Mechanics, which can be accessed step-free, directly from the car park behind the Mechanics.
