Alan Plater’s 80s TV playscript tells the story of two extraordinary Burnley women, the working class suffragist Ada Nield Chew and her daughter Doris. Broadcast in 1983 and then long lost, The Clarion Van has been rediscovered by Pendle Radicals researchers and reworked by Jules Gibb. This ‘work in progress’ sharing event includes rehearsed readings of extracts, and discussion about the two women and the wider Clarion movement. Presented in association with Pendle Radicals.
This event is free to attend, but booking your place in advance is recommended!
This is a Counter Culture Event organised and managed by Mid Pennine Arts in association with Burnley HAZ and Pendle Radicals.
