Many of us have a story worth telling, something that happened to us, a person we knew, or a place that shaped us, but it’s hard to know where to begin. In this friendly, hands-on session, you’ll learn to think the way an editor does: What’s the real story here? Who is it for? Why would they want to read it? We’ll turn a loose idea into a clear angle and a strong opening, so you leave knowing exactly what your story is and how to start writing it. No experience needed.

This workshop is part of our ’10 Hidden Stories’ Burnley ViewPoint project, funded by Lancashire County Council and our community via the Spacehive crowdfunding campaign. As part of this project, we will run a short series of writing- and journalism-based workshops to support you in submitting a piece to our next printed ViewPoint publication.

This workshop is free to attend; however, you must book your place in advance. Book online here: https://www.ticketsource.com/burnley-words/t-glzlapd
